Andover Police Announce Road Closures For the Feaster Five Thanksgiving Day Road Race
Over 10,000 participants expected

The Feaster Five Thanksgiving Day Road Race in Andover, MA has been a Merrimack Valley tradition since 1987. At 10,000 participants, it is one of the largest races in Massachusetts and one of the largest Thanksgiving day races in New England. The mood is fun and festive and every race finisher goes home with an old-fashioned apple pie provided by Table Talk, a long-time New England favorite.
The Andover Police Department recently posted race-day information on their Facebook page.

1. Runners can register at www.feasterfive.com
2. Number pick-up is at the Sakowich Center, Merrimack College (NEW)
3. The adult races (5 mile and 5K [3.1 mile]) start in Shawsheen Square at 8:30am on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27.
4. The kid’s race will be held at the lower Shawsheen field track (the old Scared Heart field) at 7:45 am on Thanksgiving morning,
There will be 10,000-plus runners at this event.

Road closures are, but not limited to:
Route. 28 from Shawsheen Square to School Street,
Route 133 from High Street to Shawsheen Square,
Bartlett Street, Chestnut Street between Bartlett Street and Pasho Street, Pasho Street
Washington Street, Elm Street from Washington Street to Elm Square, Maple Avenue
Walnut Avenue and High Street.
Roads will start closing at about 7:50 Thanksgiving morning all roads will be closed by 8:15 a.m.
Route 28 should be open by 9:20 a.m.
The race will be held rain, snow, or shine.
Hosted by the Merrimack Valley Striders and managed by DMSE Sports, the Feaster Five Road Race’s 5-mile and 5K races will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the Kid’s Fun Run at 7:45 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. All three races – which welcome walkers as well – begin on Main Street in Andover at the corner of Route 133 and Route 28 and finish at Brickstone Square. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Merrimack Valley YMCA, Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm, Bellesini Academy and the Merrimack Valley Striders.

On-site registration, bib and t-shirt pickup and the Feaster Five Expo Thanksgiving week – featuring sponsors, vendors and a host of running legends – will take place in a new location at the Sakowich Center at Merrimack College this year. Runners are invited to stop by Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 24 -25) from noon until 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 26 from noon until 6 p.m.
