Back Taxes May Cost North Andover Pub Its Liquor License

Town officials say Rolf's Pub at 39 Main Street owes more than $25,000 in back taxes and hasn't adhered to a repayment plan.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- Rolf's Pub in North Andover defaulted on a repayment plan for $25,000 in back taxes, and now North Andover Selectmen may revoke its liquor license. Selectmen had agreed to extend its license a year ago through Dec. 31 on the condition the pub's owners repay $850 a month. Rolf's stopped making payments in July, according to Selectman Chris Nobile.

Rolf's owners have also not paid water bills since 2012 and personal property taxes since 2015, according to the Eagle-Tribune, which first reported this story. "The time has well passed for this to be a partial payment. These are responsibilities we've seen all our other businesses respond to timely," Nobile said.
