Beat the Heat with a Summer Salad at Buono Bistro

What is the perfect elixir for the dog days of summer?

Pinot grigio? Limoncello? Fresh salad?

Over at Sutton Street in North Andover, they are all about pairing a delicious meal with a refreshing drink suitable for the hot weather.

“I have a passion for people and food,” said John Minasian of .

“We tend to sell more whites during the summer except for those who drink red no matter what they get,” Minasian said of his customers’ wine selection.

“Especially when it’s hot and humid, people like to eat lighter,” he continued.

Minasian had the perfect recommendation for this time of year.

“Right now we’re getting some very fresh tomatoes for our Pomodoro Caprese salad which comes with the tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic reduction,” he said.

The Pomodoro Caprese is a great option at only $8.

“That salad with a little grilled chicken on top paired with a little pinot grigio is fabulous,” he added.

Adding chicken to the salad ups the cost by only $3 while adding tuna costs an additional $4. Steak or shrimp on top will be an extra $6.

The summer specials don’t stop there.

“The three most popular deserts we have are the limoncello cake, tiramisu, and our homemade canolis,” Minasian said.

Remarking on the limoncello cake, he continued, “If you pair it with a little creamy limoncello from the bar it enhances it twofold.”

Sports fans can consider Buono Bistro quite a sanctuary. Their Game Day Bar Menu consists of buffalo and barbecue wings, sliders, spinach artichoke dip, mozzarella sticks, calamari, and bruschetta.

“It doesn’t matter what game it is, football, soccer, golf, if there’s a game on you can get that special,” Minasian clarified.

Half priced appetizers are available every day at the bar between 3 and 6pm. Grab a draft beef for only $2 when you order an appetizer.

Buono Bistro is open until 10pm; on Saturdays and Sundays it remains open through 11pm. On Sundays it is open between 3 and 9pm.
