Dog Rescued From Icy Misadventure In Boxford
Officials said Charlie walked out about 30 feet before becoming stuck on some ice at Cleveland State Forest off Rowley Road.

BOXFORD, MA — A dog named Charlie has the Boxford Police Department to thank for rescuing her from an icy misadventure Thursday.
Officials said Charlie walked out about 30 feet over the water at Cleveland State Forest off Rowley Road before becoming stuck on the ice.

Since the ice was too thin for anyone to walk out and retrieve Charlie, officials had to use ice rescue suits to swim out and bring her to safety.

Charlie has been returned to her owners, according to officials.
"Please be cautious when around ice as it has not been cold enough for a prolonged period of time for the ponds and water sources to be walkable, the Oxford Fire Department noted. "Remember, no ice is safe ice!"
