Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, Commuter Rail Station On North Andover Agenda

The Select Board will discuss electric vehicle charging stations, a commuter rail station study, and funds for the middle school.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The feasibility of a commuter rail station, a grant for electric vehicle charging stations, and funds for a middle school renovation and addition are some of the topics that North Andover Select Board will discuss at its Wednesday night meeting.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room. The full agenda is available at the town's website.

On the agenda is an item regarding accepting a grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection for $157,092 for electric vehicle charging stations.

This includes funds for charging ports at 1475 Osgood St., 481 Sutton St., 430 Osgood St., and 566 Main St.

Also on the docket is $45,883 from American Rescue Plan Act funds for a study about bringing an MBTA Commuter Rail stop to North Andover. The project has a total budget of $120,883, with $75,000 available via a state earmark.

Funds for drainage improvements and "a contingency for the school's addition project" at North Andover Middle School will also be discussed.
