Ex-Fiancé Of Fitzsimmons Placed On Administrative Leave In North Andover: Reports

The former fiancé of a police officer facing an assault charge has reportedly been put on leave by the fire department.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The ex-fiancé of Kelsey Fitzsimmons, a former police officer who is facing trial on an assault charge, has been put on paid leave from his job as a firefighter, according to NBC 10 Boston.

Fire officials said Justin Aylaian is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, Boston 25 News reported.

No information has been released on what the investigation entails.

Fitzsimmons, 29, a former North Andover police officer, was shot at her home last year while police were serving a restraining order.

Officers say she pointed a gun at them, but Fitzsimmons says that never happened.

She was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Her trial is scheduled for later this month.

Fitzsimmons' attorneys are requesting the fire department turnover disciplinary records related to Aylaian's alleged drug use, according to Boston 25 News.

Her defense team has also accused Aylaian of breaking into Fitzsimmons' home days after the shooting in July 2025 to take evidence tied to a child custody case, NBC 10 Boston reported.
