It's a new month! That means a NEW 30 for 30 challenge!!!
Last month, your task was to make time in your day to perform 30 bodyweight squats every day for 30 days. How did YOU do? If you completed the challenge and did 30 for 30 on squats, your legs should be stronger, and your butt should be more toned. Now, on to this month's challenge.
Every day in May: 30 PUSH-UPS EVERY DAY FOR 30 DAYS!!! Your task is to find the time to perform 30 push-ups throughout the course of your day, for 30 days. Here's how it works.
MODIFY IF NEEDED
Can't do traditional push-ups on your hands and toes? Do them on a stable, elevated surface, or you can do them on your hands and knees.
PROPER FORM
To get into the push-up position, get on the floor so only your hands and toes are on the floor, and your back is completely straight. Hands should be positioned just wider than your shoulders. Your head and neck are neutral. Bend your elbows by bringing them into your body, and decent your entire body toward the floor. Once your are about 3-5" from the floor, push yourself back up to the start position. That's one rep. Now, repeat!
BREAK THEM UP ANY WAY YOU WANT
Just like last month, don't stress if you can't bang out 30 push-ups in a row. Do 10. Or maybe even just 5. You can set aside a couple of minutes to do them in sets of 10 or a few at a time. You could also just drop to the floor for a few, them move on. Whatever you can do! At the end of the day, you must hit 30 total push-ups.
DO NOT DO THESE AT THE GYM
Yup, I said it again! The point of the challenge is for you to MAKE TIME in your day by dedicating just a few brief moments to exercise. You don't need a gym membership. All you need is a floor! You could even do them outside, if the weather is nice. If you are currently working out, these are NOT to be done with your regular workout. This is bonus work to push you to the next level!
TAKE THE LAST DAY OFF
There are 31 days this month. So you don't have to do push-ups on the last day of the month...unless you want to add an extra day! ;)
GOAL
By the end of the month, your goal is do be able to do 30 push-ups in a row, without stopping. If you already can do that, time yourself, then push yourself to break that time.
