Five Spots to Get New England Clam Chowder

The Green Bay Packers have their cheese heads and New England has its Chowderheads.

New England is synonymous with both the Patriots and clam chowder, and in case you need a reminder, the Patriots are in the Super Bowl against the New York Giants on Sun., Feb. 5.

Today we celebrate our New England Chowderhead roots with five local places to get your clam chowder fix.

1. Boston Chowda

In downtown North Andover, has a pair of chowders worth trying out. The Plymouth Corn Chowda and Nantucket Seafood Chowda are both available.

Prices range from $3.29 for an eight ounce container to a quart for $11.49. Bread Bowls are also available for $6-6:50.

2. Hometown Seafoods

On Chestnut Street in Andover, offers a classic clam chowder in three sizes as well as a corn chowder.

Prices are $2.95, $5.50, and $9.95 for small, medium, and large.

3. Lobster Tail

The , on 125 in North Andover, has a creamy and delicious clam chowder. That and a meaty fish chowder are available in three sizes.

Cups are $3.95, pints are $6.95, and quarts are $10.95.

4. Jaime’s Restaurant

At in North Andover, the New England clam chowder is hot, fresh and available for $3.79 a cup. A larger crock is available for $4.99.

5. Joe Fish

A local authority on seafood, has a traditional clam chowder with cream and potatoes and a Portuguese clam chowder with tomatoes and andoille sausage.

Both are priced as follows: $3.99 for a cup, $4.99 for a bowl, and $6.99 for a bread bowl.
