Great Escape - Laugh the Night Away At China Blossom
Each week, we'll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.
“Laughter is the best medicine,” is a saying that has been around for centuries.
Parenting today can be stressful, and humor can be an antidote.
There are several comedy clubs in the Boston area. One of the newest is Chuckles Comedy Club at the on Route 125. Since January, Johnny Pizzi, comedian and partner of Giggles at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus and local businessman Chris Flahive have teamed up to bring known comedians every Friday and Saturday night to North Andover.

Although other comedy clubs have played at China Blossom through the years, Pizzi said that owner David Lee contacted him based on his reputation. With over 20 years of experience, Pizzi explained that he had the connections to bring in well-known headliners such as Lenny Clarke and Steve Sweeney.
As a comedian, Pizzi said that moms and dads can relate to his humor because he talks a lot about parenting and having kids. His own daughter Nicole now with a child of her own has been working with him since she was a teenager.

Pizzi explained that they have already made changes such as a new stage, improved sound system and future plans include replace the curtain with a louver door to keep out noise from the bar.
Each show runs about two hours and features three to five comedians.
“It is a great night out, especially when it is paired with the China Blossom award winning buffet," Pizzi said.
Tickets range from$20-$26, depending on the talent. Right now they are offering a $5 off coupon for Patch readers. The weekend of March 18 and 19 will feature Paul D’Angelo from the Showtime special, “Godfathers of Comedy."
