Latest North Andover Forecast: Wind Chill 30 Degrees Below Zero on Wednesday

The National Weather Service issued a rare wind chill alert for the region.

It’s going to be bitterly cold on Wednesday into Thursday in North Andover.

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Chill Watch on Tuesday that will be in effect Wednesday until Thursday morning for Western, Central and parts of Eastern Massachusetts. A Wind Chill Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for wind chills of -25°F or colder for at least three hours. Limit outdoor exposure.

Wind chill values will drop to 30 degrees below zero, according to the National Weather Service—which issued a rare wind chill alert. Here’s the latest NWS forecast:

  • TIMING...WIND CHILLS DROP TO 15 BELOW ZERO AROUND RUSH HOUR WEDNESDAY EVENING...AND TO 25 BELOW ZERO BY LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT. WIND CHILLS SHOULD RISE TO 15 BELOW ZERO BY NOON ON THURSDAY.
  • IMPACTS...DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS MAY RESULT IN FROSTBITE OR HYPOTHERMIA.
  • WINDS...NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.
  • TEMPERATURES...6 BELOW TO 19 ABOVE ZERO.
