"Letting Go of the burning coal" on February 19th
clearing resentments through forgiveness, with retreat Leader, Elisa Pearmain

Harboring resentments has been described as akin to holding a burning coal that you wish to throw at your enemy but holding on to it, you are the one who gets burned. In this interactive workshop we will learn about and explore the tasks, benefits and challenges of freeing our hearts and minds of anger, and hurts through the forgiveness process. Working with folk tales, personal stories, self-compassion exercises and writing, we will explore such tasks as: learning from our previous forgiveness experiences, grieving our losses, cultivating empathy for self and others, acceptance, listening to our anger, and learning to meet our needs in healthier ways. This workshop is helpful also for those in the helping professions who wish to guide others on the path of forgiveness. Please bring a journal to write in.
