Man Charged In North Andover Fatal Shooting: Prosecutors

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in North Andover, according to a statement from Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and North Andover Police Chief Charles Gray.

Derick Moncion, 22, of Haverhill, was charged with shooting and killing Jaeby Ortiz Ruiz, 21, of Haverhill, in the early morning hours Sunday.

Police discovered the victim in the area of Riverview Street in North Andover.

A warrant charging Moncion with murder was granted Monday afternoon. He was taken into custody Monday evening.

Moncion is expected to be arraigned Tuesday morning in Lawrence District Court.

The investigation is ongoing.
