Man Dies In Single-Car Roll-Over Crash On I-495 In Haverhill
A man is dead following a single-car accident on I-495 in Haverhill on Friday afternoon, according to state police.
HAVERHILL, MA — A man was killed in a single-car accident on I-495 in Haverhill on Friday, state police said. David Ziembko, 62, of New Britain, CT, died in the crash.
A police investigation found that at 2:53 p.m., Ziembko was driving southbound in the left lane of I-495. Just before the Route 97 overpass, his 2012 Honda CR-V left the road, went into the grass median, then struck a guardrail.
The crash into the guardrail caused the SUV to roll over onto its roof.

First responders extricated Ziembko from the car and began attempting emergency life-saving measures. He was then transported to Lawrence General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
State police said the "facts and circumstances of the crash, including whether Mr. Ziembko may have suffered a medical event prior to driving off the road, remain under investigation."

Two lanes of I-495 south were closed for about three hours due to the crash.
