Merrimack Student Seriously Injured In Fall From 3rd-Floor Window

In a note to the campus community, the college's president said the student is expected to recover his injuries.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — A Merrimack College freshman who fell from a third story dorm window Saturday night was seriously injured but is expected to recover. The student, whose identity has not been released, remained hospitalized and was with his family, college President Christopher Hopey said in a note to the campus community sent Saturday night. Foul play is not suspected.

The student was conscious and alert when rescue workers arrived. He was taken to a Boston hospital by helicopter. The college was holding its spring weekend festivities. Those events were suspended after the student's fall.
