NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The mother of a North Andover woman killed in a car accident late Sunday has started a GoFundMe for the woman's funeral arrangements and her family, including her four children. Yahaira Colon, 30, was killed in the accident Sunday. Betsy Cruz, her mother, launched the fundraiser Monday evening, and has so far raised over $5,000.

"She leaves four beautiful children behind. Yahaira was loved by so many. She was always the life of the party," Cruz wrote. "Anyone who knew her, knows she was always the first to be that supportive friend/family for anyone."

Colon was the second child Cruz lost in under five years.

"No mother should ever have to bury her children," Cruz wrote. "Almost 4 years ago we lost her younger brother Jose (Machi) and we are still grieving and trying to handle that loss."

Jose "Machi" Colon Jr, was killed in Lawrence in March, 2016.

"Today my family and I ask for everyone’s help to give my daughter the proper funeral and burial. We need any help we can get for all of the kids," Cruz wrote.

As of 12:24 p.m. Tuesday, 134 donors have given $5,098 of the fundraiser's $10,000 goal.
