New Wilmington Target is Hiring

Target is on pace to open in Wilmington in October and is looking to hire.

The second-largest discount retailer in the U.S. is set to open its Wilmington location at 210 Ballardvale St. with a grand opening on Oct. 12.

Target representatives say the new Wilmington store will provide more than 150 jobs to the Wilmington community and surrounding area.

“The community can expect a lot working at Target,” says Victoria Snow, Target’s executive team leader of human resources. “We are looking to pull together a fun, energetic and talented team over the next few months. We are a company focused on community and we are a brand that puts our guests first.”

The Wilmington Target will have a Starbucks, a Target Cafe, a pharmacy and a full grocery store. Snow says the new location will also showcase the chain’s new interactive electronics layout, as well as a baby concierge center within the infants’ department. “These are brand new attributes to the company that we are lucky enough to open with,” Snow says. “We can’t wait to open our doors to the Wilmington community.”

A hiring event is taking place on Wednesday, Aug. 13 and Thursday, Aug. 14. from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 187 Ballardvale St., Suite A210 in Wilmington. And bringing new jobs into the area isn’t the only thing Target is doing for Wilimington.

According to Snow, supporting communities has always been a cornerstone of the company’s business and belief that guides many of their decisions.

“Last year alone, Target gave over $3,500 back to Wilmington schools just from Wilmington residents using their RedCard at our Woburn Target store. This year we are already on track to double that,” she says.

On Aug. 5, the Wilmington Target team will partner with the Wilmington Police Department for the town’s first National Night Out event.
