North Andover Coronavirus: 8 Cases, New School Meal Schedule

The town Board of Health is following up with contacts of positive patients, the town said.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover now has eight confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, the town reported Thursday. That's an increase of five from Monday's update. The town noted that there are likely more people with the virus who have not been tested.

The town also reported that the school meal distribution schedule has changed. Beginning Monday, daily meals are still available but will only be available for pickup Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Families can take two days worth of meals at a time.

You can pre-order your meals online here or by calling 978-208-6070 the day before. Monday meals should be ordered on Friday.

Building inspections are starting back up on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. The building department will encourage applicants to provide photos instead of doing on site inspections, and will use only one inspector per inspection, whenever possible. Inspectors will keep six feet from all individuals on site.

"Further, the Town asks that if anyone at a site to be inspected (residential or commercial) is experiencing COVID-19 typical symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat) that they delay calling for any inspections until such time that at least 14 days have passed since someone at the location has experienced symptoms," the town said. "They should also immediately contact the Town's Health Department. The Inspector of Buildings has the authority to postpone the inspection of a site if he feels that his safety or that of other inspectors is in
question."
