North Andover Coronavirus: Schools To Remain Closed Rest Of Year
District and North Andover High School leadership are working on graduation and other year-end plans, Superintendent Gregg Gilligan said.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Gov. Charlie Baker announced Tuesday that schools will remain closed for the rest of the year. Remote learning will continue.
In a letter to the community, North Andover Public Schools Superintendent Gregg Gilligan said that the administration is working on alternative ways to hold year-end events like graduation and move up days.
"Seniors have been looking forward to their last trimester of academics, athletics and activities as they close out their education as part of North Andover’s 150th graduating class," Gilligan said in a separate message Friday. "I want to reassure our seniors and their families that Principal Jackson and I have remained in communication on this issue."

Gilligan also noted in the message Tuesday that more guidance is coming from the state, on reopening next year. He also shared the following resources for social and emotional well-being:

As of Tuesday, 115 residents have tested positive for the virus. Forty-two have active cases, while 66 have recovered. Seven residents have died.
