North Andover Expands Public Access Defibrillation Program
The town will add devices intended to provide life-saving help to those in cardiac arrest at all recreational fields.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover is bringing automated external defibrillators to all 15 recreational fields in town.
The North Andover Fire Department posted the following on Facebook:
The Town of North Andover is expanding its Public Access Defibrillation Program across all fifteen recreational fields. Each field will be equipped with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest event.

The Outdoor AED Enclosure contains a Heartsine P350 AED, Adult Pads, Pediatric Pads and AED Prep Kit. AEDs will be available from April through October at all field locations.
In the event of a cardiac arrest, a bystander will call 911 and provide their location which can be found on the front of the Outdoor AED Enclosure. The 911 dispatcher will provide the caller with the access code to unlock the box so that the AED can be deployed.

These Automated External Defibrillators were purchased and installed utilizing Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021, presented by the North Andover Health Department, Fire Department, Public Works Department, North Andover Town Residents and approved by the North Andover Select Board in October of 2023.
