North Andover Fourth Of July Road Race

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The North Andover Fourth of July Road Race is just around the corner. There will be a 5K, 10K, and a Kids Fun Run (.6 miles.)

Here are the registration costs:

Adults 5K and 10K: $35 until July 1

Children 12 and Under 5K and 10K: $20 until July 1

Kids Fun Run (ages 3-12): $5 until July 1 - Registration Required

You can register and pick up your race number on July 3 between 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Greater Boston Running Company at 45 Main St.

On the Fourth of July you can pick and register for the 5K/10K at the North Parish Church (Great Pond Road entrance) between 7-8:15 a.m. You can pick up and register for the Fun Run on the Common (but the t-shirts can only by picked up on July 3.

The Fun Run starts at 8 a.m., the 5K/Walk at 8:30 a.m., and the 10K at 8:35 a.m

The 10K race description is as follows: Starts on Massachusetts Avenue near the Old Center and Common. It proceeds through the Old Center, bearing right at the fire station onto Johnson Street and up Johnson hill. Stay on Johnson Street for the next couple of miles. It is relatively flat with slight downhills. Bear left onto Farnum Street and a quick left again onto Summer Street. Take Summer Street all the way to the end and turn left onto Salem Street. This portion is also flat with slight downhills. Follow Salem Street back to the fire station. This section has some slight uphills with one larger hill near the cemetery. Before the fire station, turn left onto Milk Street. At the end of Milk Street, turn right onto Chestnut Street. At the end of Chestnut, turn right onto Andover Street. Follow Andover Street for a short stretch and turn left onto Osgood when you reach the Old Center Common. Go around the Common and the finish is near the Museum of Printing on Massachusetts Avenue.

The 5K race description is as follows: Starts on Massachusetts Avenue at the Andover St. Rotary. It proceeds through the Old Center, bearing right at the fire station onto Johnson Street and up Johnson hill. Stay on Johnson Street for about a mile and turn left onto Abbott Street and left again onto Marbleridge Road. Enjoy this downhill portion of the course. At the next intersection turn left onto Salem Street up the hill by the cemetery. Follow Salem Street back to the fire station. Before the fire station, turn left onto Milk Street. At the end of Milk Street, turn right onto Chestnut Street. At the end of Chestnut, turn right onto Andover Street. Follow Andover Street for a short stretch and turn left onto Osgood when you reach the Old Center Common. Go around the Common and the finish is near the Museum of Printing on Massachusetts Avenue.

The Fun Run race description is as follows: Start on Massachusetts Avenue near the Museum of Printing at the Old Center Common. It will proceed around the Common and finish at the starting line. It is approximately .6 miles and a flat course.
