North Andover High School Marching Band Earns Silver at NESBA Home Show, Gold at Billerica

The NAHS Scarlet Knights Marching Band competed in North Andover on October 14, and in Billerica on October 21, earning Silver and Gold.

More than 1700 performers, spectators, and volunteers turned out for this year’s New England Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) Marching Band Competition hosted at the North Andover High School on October 14th. Spectacular weather complemented the amazing performances of 10 bands, including 9 high school bands representing communities in MA and NH, and a finale by the UMass Lowell Marching Band.

Judges awarded the Scarlet Knights Marching Band a score of 83.50, earning them a silver medal for their performance of this year’s show; “We the People”. The show incorporates a compilation of patriotic tunes, selections from the Broadway musical “Les Miserables”, and visual arts including color guard theatrics to tell the story of the American Revolution.

Following the home competition, the Knights earned a gold medal rating with a score of 86.60 at NESBA Billerica on October 21st. The band will also compete in Reading on October 28th, and the 2017 NESBA Championships will be held at Lawrence Memorial Stadium on November 5th.
