North Andover Man Arrested For Beating, Robbing 81-Year-Old Man
Kalish Rodriguez, 33, of 85 Main Street, was also charged with a prior car break-in.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- Police in Lawrence arrested a North Andover man who allegedly attacked and robbed an 81-year-old man who was out for a walk. Police charged Kalish Rodriguez, 33, of 85 Main Street, with assault and battery on a person over age 60, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, unarmed robbery of a person over age 65, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over age 60, and receiving stolen property.
Police also linked Rodriguez to an earlier break-in of a car when they discovered bottles of cologne and a Bluetooth device in his possession. Those items had been reported missing in the car break-in.
Police were called to Lawrence Street at 5:35 am where they found the victim sitting on the curb with cuts to his head, nose, eye and forehead. The man agreed to be transported to Lawrence General Hospital when he had trouble recalling his address.

A witness had videotaped the attack and approached police. The video shows the victim lying on the ground yelling for help as his attacker goes through his pockets. The attacker also kicks the victim in the head as he walks away. Police located and arrested Rodriguez a short time later a few blocks away.
