The man was changing a tire on Old Cart Way when the car slipped off the jack early Monday morning.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover Police and a resident are being credited with helping rescue a man who was pinned under his car while changing a tire Monday morning. Police were called to Old Cart Way around 6 a.m. for reports of someone screaming in pain. The neighbor who saw police when they arrived gave them a car jack to help lift the car off the man.

North Andover Police Lt. EJ Foulds told the Eagle-Tribune he did not know the identity or condition of the man but the incident "could have been a lot worse." The man was taken to Lawrence General Hospital after he was freed.
