North Andover Middle School and High School Students Perform in Northeast Massachusetts Honors Band Ensembles

North Andover was well represented in this year’s Northeast Massachusetts Honors Youth Wind Ensemble, and the Honors Middle School Concert Band which performed on May 14th at the Galvin Middle School in Wakefield. The ensembles were comprised of students from more than 10 Northeast Massachusetts areas.

North Andover Middle School participants were 8th grade students Menna Abbay, Anna McGrath, Hanna Nazzaro, Evie Gosselin, Katie Kooken, Sarah Lavery, Katie Murphy, Brian Beasley, Zoe Zimmer, Emma Greaves, Elliot Schoonmaker, Conor Curtin, and Sara Curtin, all nominated by NAMS music teacher Chris Nelson.

Returning by invitation to perform with the Honors Youth Wind Ensemble were North Andover High School students Claire Mezzina, Ryan Burns, and Chris Beasley.

The concert was jointly conducted by Dr. Bradley P. Ethington, Director of Bands at Syracuse University, and Mr. Thomas Bankert, Director of Bands at Wakefield High School.
