We need your help to get the word out supporting our 4 th Annual fundraiser.
July 4, 2016 will mark the 38th year of the North Andover 4th of July race. It will be the fourth year that the Borderline Running Club (BRC), an all-volunteer group, will produce, direct and host the race with the net proceeds going to benefit the Friends of the North Andover Senior Center, a 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to supporting programs and services for our Senior Citizens. And, in the spirit of community and the season, the race will again financially support the town’s Independence Day fireworks display. The race is run in close collaboration with the town’s 4th of July activities taking place at the Town Common in the Old Town Center and is a family-friendly, community building event. In addition to all the positives that come from helping our seniors, race sponsors will enjoy tangible benefits based on the sponsorship level selected as well as being a significant part of one of the oldest and well-known running events in the area.
This event benefits the North Andover Seniors providing; Transportation assistance; Emergency funds used for heating assistance, groceries and utility bills; also needed infrastructure upgrades to the Senior Center; Support for classes and programs at the Senior Center; and has provided outreach to over 1,575 homebound elders through the MOW program by providing specially prepared gift baskets and special lunches during the holidays.
They have also reached out to our folks living within the six housing communities in North Andover by sponsoring summer cookouts. On June 29 th we invite you to attend our annual packet stuffing event from Noon to 3pm followed by a free Pizza Party. Our weekly Wednesday’s Fresh Table at noon is now underway. Cost is $5.00, limited to 30 seniors with sign up deadline the Friday before. (to insure the purchasing of food) Menus vary week to week and are posted throughout the center and with reception.
North Andover Country Club Golf Passes: Starting now golf passes ($6) are available with reception for any senior 60 and older who resides in North Andover. Two different packages are available. Limit 20 seniors per package. Must show proof of residency at time of pass purchase. Country club rates are $20.00 with tee off times between 12:30 and 2:00pm. Pizza lunch with the Thomson School 4th graders, Wednesday June 15th at noon here at the Senior Center. Pizza is donated by Stachey’s Pizzeria. Sign up with reception, limited to the first 50 seniors.
A trip to Hampton Beach to view the Sand Castles, Friday June 17th. Van cost $6 with lunch on your own. Van departs 10:30, limited to 12 seniors.
ONE ON ONE COMPUTER INSTRUCTION: 45 minute sessions for $7. Tuesdays with George, Thursdays with Tom Kooken. Make your appointments with reception 978-688-9560. Time slots are between, 9-12.
S.H.I.N.E. Volunteers: (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) Free, confidential counseling on all aspects of health insurance to North Andover residents on Medicare. Call center for an appointment.

MEET WITH AN ATTORNEY: Atty. Ramsey Bahrawy, June 14th and Atty. Bridget Murray June 28th. Schedule with Reception-first consult is free.
MR. FIX IT: First and Third THURSDAY of the month from 12-3pm. We repair almost as good as new. Lamps, with cords and sockets, replace watch batteries, small tables and chairs. Anything that is not listed, we will give it a shot! Your cost is $2 - $4 depending on work needed, plus parts. Proceeds benefit the Senior Center.
WALK IN CLINIC: Wednesdays NEW TIME 9:30 – 11:30 am, the North Andover Senior Center and Home Health Inc/VNA operate a wellness clinic. If you are a North Andover Senior, we urge you to take advantage of this opportunity to check your blood pressure, blood sugar, weight and blood oxygen levels. Consult privately with an RN regarding any medication and health issues that you are concerned about. There is no charge for this service. Donations are gratefully accepted.
MASSAGE THERAPIST: Every second Friday of the month from 9-12. Call the center for an appointment.
FOOT CARE: RN Catherine Languedoc, Foot Care Specialist $30, third Friday of every month from 9-3pm.
ROCKINGHAM MALL TRIP- June 27th, 2016, call for reservation.
WALKING GROUP- Our Walking Group walks at the Youth Center every morning at 9 a.m., must wear appropriate foot gear for inside the gymnasium.
Volunteers are the backbone of the North Andover Senior Center, we currently need Medical Transport Volunteers. You can set your own hours. Call the Senior Center for more information. Speak with our Program Coordinator at 688-9560 for an application and assistance.
