North Andover Students Selected for MMEA Festivals.

Auditions for the Massachusetts Music Educators Association Northeastern District concluded on February 8th as several hopeful North Andover students performed for spots in the Junior Festival.

NAHS 9th grader, Grace Ballantyne was selected for the Girls Chorus, while 9th graders Keenan Gosselin, Luke Ralph, and Henry Wright will play trumpet in the Orchestra along with NAMS 7th grader, Junny Lee who earned first chair with the top oboe score.

This year's MMEA NE District Junior Festival concert will be held at the Galvin Middle School in Wakefield on March 28th.

On November 23rd, the North Andover High School hosted a successful audition day for the MMEA Northeast District with over 1,000 musicians attending. Seven NAHS students were selected and performed in the Senior Festival on January 11th.

Mena Abbay, Owen Ferguson, Isaac Gliklich, and Henry Wright performed in the Senior Festival Chorus, each earning a recommendation to further audition for the MMEA All State Conference. Samuel Ursu (trumpet), Evelyn Wang (percussion) and Katherine Kooken (alto saxophone) were selected for the Senior Festival Band.

Following the January 25th auditions, Owen Ferguson, Isaac Gliklich, and Henry Wright were chosen to perform with the Chorus in the All-State Festival concert to be held at Symphony Hall, Boston on March 7th.
