Obituary from Conte Funeral Home.

Joan C. (Connelly) St. Jean, 80, of North Andover, Mass., died peacefully at home on Sunday November 2, 2014 with the love and support of her family at her bedside. She is once again with her best friend, her high school sweetheart and husband of 56 years, Donald J. St. Jean. She was born in Methuen, Mass. and graduated from Methuen High School. Joan studied at Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in Boston and Merrimack College in North Andover.

She was a Staff Nurse, then a Head Nurse on a Medical/Surgical Unit at Bon Secours Hospital. Following that, she worked for many years, until she retired, as an Office Nurse Coordinator for Dr. Richard Mc Govern of Lawrence, Mass. Joan was always concerned with the well-being of those around her. She would ask constantly, “What can I get you?” At all times, she had a twinkle in her eyes and a smile on her face. She enjoyed traveling and listening to music. But most of all, she loved her home, and all the happy memories of her years there together with Donald.

She is survived by her sister Rita Connelly of Lawrence, Mass., as well as extended family throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday November 4th from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Conte Funeral Home 17 Third St. North Andover, MA 01845. Her Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
