Melissa “Missy” Ann (Frulla) Powers, born in Pittsfield, MA, December 18, 1967, was the loving wife of Thomas F. Powers, and a devoted mother to her children, Corey and Tara, daughter of Judy and Anthony Eugene Frulla of Vermont, sister of Kurt Frulla and his wife Evelyn of Virginia, Victor Frulla and his wife Jenny of Methuen, Heather Takesian and her husband Paul of North Andover, Toni Wolfenden and her husband William J. of North Andover, and Michelle Roy of New Hampshire, sister-in-law of Richard Powers and his wife Nancy; as well as a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Melissa was a long time resident of North Andover and graduated from NAHS class of 1985 and Castle Junior College, Class of 1987. She was an employee of The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, Emmanuel Temple in Andover, and the North Andover Town Hall, Police Department, and DPW. As a mom, school was of utmost importance and keeping her kids on task was so very key. Melissa especially enjoyed dining out with friends and family and was an avid reader, shopper and cook, and enjoyed summer vacations at Newfound Lake in New Hampshire. Melissa courageously battled MS for many years with dignity. Her family held a successful fundraiser called “No Place Like Home” which allowed Missy to remain at home as long as possible during her illness. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 25th at 10AM in St. Michael Church, North Andover. Interment will be private. Calling Hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 in the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover.
