Pickard -- Committed For School Committee
Helen Pickard is running for the North Andover School Committee. The election is March 28, 2017. Vote for Helen on the 28th
I’ve known Helen Pickard for years, and will be voting for
her for North Andover School Committee on March 28th. I’ve been
impressed with her passion for education, and her ability to look beyond the
surface to see issues and solutions which others don’t. She’s energetic,
engaged, thoughtful, inclusive, and respectful.
Helen has the breadth and depth of experience to make her the
best candidate for the School Committee. She’s served as a volunteer from
kindergarten to high school. She’s been part of the leadership of the music
association and the enrichment program. She’s been a high school teacher and an
educational administrator. She’s been a leader, and a team member, on a wide
variety of activities, including the superintendent search committee which
selected Dr. Price.
Helen is not afraid to take a firm position, let people know
what it is, and explain why she’s taken it. She’s also very open to listening
to other people’s views and ideas, and finding middle ground. She understands
we all have to work within limits, especially when it comes to the budget, but
looks for ways to use the funds we have to provide the best education we can
for all our students.
