Nadine Levin of North Andover has found her calling, and what a sweet calling it is.
Levin runs Pipe Dream Cupcakes, a cupcake business she started in January 2011 and operates in her home.
“I started baking a lot and started posting a lot of my things on Facebook,” Levin said. “Then a friend of hers from college was getting married and asked if she would make the desserts. She enjoyed that and started experimenting with different cupcake creations, and a new business was born.

“Then I created a name and Web site, and it snowballed from there,” she said.
Levin balances her cupcake venture with her full-time job as publisher of an online business news publication. She runs her cupcake company mostly on weekends.

“It’s been mostly for weekends – weddings, parties, more of a weekend thing,” she said. "To me, it’s a lot of fun. It’s not work when I’m doing it."
But you don’t have to have an event or special occasion to buy these cupcakes. Individuals also buy them as a tasty treat. However, there is a minimum of 24 cupcakes (which is one batch) per order.
Levin and her husband have lived in North Andover for more than 12 years. They have two children, 10-year-old Zachary and 6-year-old Zoey.
Levin said that Zachary loves her cupcake gig, but surprisingly, Zoey is not a cupcake fan.
