Schools Closed for Friday

North Andover Public Schools will be closed Friday due to the expected blizzard.

The School Department sent out a reverse 911 alert Thursday letting parents know school was cancelled forn Friday. Driving conditions are expected to be extremely hazardous Friday, with periods of very low visibility, and having buses on the roads would put students at risk.

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for most of eastern Massachusetts including North Andover, calling it a "potential historic winter storm."

We could see snow falling at 3-to-4 inches per hour and wind gusts of more than 20 miles per hour.
