Septic Truck Crash Leads To Spill, Road Closure In North Andover, Fire Officials Say
A person was hospitalized and a road was shut down following the accident Tuesday, according to fire officials.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — A septic truck rolled over in North Andover on Tuesday afternoon, according to fire officials.
The crash occurred in the area of 515 Boston St. at 1:56 p.m. and shut down traffic in both directions. The accident occurred near Willow Ridge Road and Paddock Lane.
The truck's driver was stuck in the vehicle and crews had to remove them using hydraulic cutting tools. The person was taken to a local hospital.

The truck was carrying roughly 4,500 gallons of septic sewage and appeared to be leaking.
"At this time, crews have contained the runoff from the truck and are utilizing equipment to empty the truck," fire officials said in a statement. A towing company is evaluating removal of the truck.

Other agencies notified of the accident include the state Department of Environmental Protection, the North Andover Board of Health, and the North Andover Conservation Commission. The agencies are developing a formal containment plan.
Boston Street remains closed as crews continue to work on cleanup.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by police.
