Smolak Farms Announces New 'Pick Your Own' Community

Spring is in full bloom, and that means seasonal produce.

is launching a new Pick Your Own Fruit Community Supported Agriculture group, in which you can buy a share (or half share) and enjoy the benefits of locally grown fruits.

The PYO Fruit CSA will be available from strawberry season through the apple season. There are 50 shares available. There will be 25 PYO Fruit shares available for Wednesdays and 25 PYO Fruit shares available for Thursdays.

A full share costs $350 and includes:

• 12 quarts of strawberries
• 6 pints of raspberries
• 6 pints of currants
• 12 pints of blueberries
• 10 lbs. of Heirloom tomatoes
• 10 lbs. of peaches/nectarines
• 8 lbs. of plums
• 1 bushel of apples (about 42 lbs.)

A half share costs $195 and includes:

• 6 quarts of strawberries
• 3 pints of raspberries
• 3 pints of currants
• 6 pints of blueberries
• 5 lbs. of Heirloom tomatoes
• 5 lbs. of peaches/nectarines
• 4 lbs. of plums
• 2 pecks of apples (about 21 lbs.)
