Summer Moonlight Youth Theater Workshop

summer moonlight is a summer theater workshop for kids in grades 3-8, with a choice of 2 two week sessions. Join us for one or both! Both sessions include fun theater games, improvisation exercises, vocal warm-ups and singing, as well as rehearsal for an original show presented for family and friends the final Friday of each session.

• Session One, July 13-24, Monday thru Friday from 9am to 2pm: Ocean-A-Go-Go What happens when you mix characters from Scooby Doo, Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, Popeye, Spongebob, and Gilligans Island, and put them in a 60’s style Beach movie? One of the silliest and snappy musical revues ever! Featuring great songs from movies, musicals, and pop culture, this will be a terrific, lighthearted musical. All kids will have a chance to sing and act in this show, and do basic stage movement.
• Session Two-August 3-14, Monday thru Friday from 9am to 2pm: Circus By The Sea Clara is a young lighthouse keeper who is celebrating a lonely birthday -- until a circus gets washed up on her island! Featuring music and circus acts, all kids will get a chance to sing, act and develop circus skills (juggling, balancing, clowning). Professional circus skills teacher and performer Marci Diamond joins us for this session.
  

Both sessions are held at The Meetinghouse, a restored building from the 1830’s located across from First Church in Ipswich. Sessions are led by J.T. Turner, professional actor and acting coach.

Cost for each two week session is $450, with discount available for a sibling. Limited financial need based partial scholarships are available (please inquire prior to June 15). Confirmed registration by a minimum of 10 students per session PRIOR to June 20 is required to run the program, and we have a maximum of only 20 kids per session - so please register today and don’t miss out!
