Sushi and Teppanyaki Customer Favorites at Tokyo Steakhouse

If you are looking for sushi or teppan-grilled steak, check out Tokyo Steakhouse on the south side of Andover.

, 560 South Main St., Andover specializes in Japanese cusine. Located on the Andover/North Reading line. It is one of four restaurants owned by Helen Hoang of New Hampshire.

The menu has a variety of lunch and dinner options.

Starting out with appetizers, the Chicken Tempura for $7.95 for dinner and Shrimp Tempura $8.95 are the most popular, according to Joanne, an assistant manager at the restaurant.

In choosing a main entree, Joanne explained the Teppanyaki dishes are popular because they are prepared in front of guests and are not that spicy. The Teppan Chicken for $16.95 and the Teppanyaki Sirloin Steak for $18.95 were the recommended options. All dinners are served with soup, salad, vegetables, white rice and shrimp. 

Those seeking more adventurous food can pick from a wide range of Sushi, Maki and Sashimi choices. Sushi dinners and Sushi Boats are served with miso soup and house salad. But there are far more A La Carte choices.

Customer favorites include the spicy tuna maki for $5.75, Boston maki (avocado and cucumber), $4.50, spider roll (softshell crab and spicy sauce), $8.95, and Fuiji Mountain Maki (Shrimp Tempura, crabmeat, wasabi and mayo),$9.95.

A real treat to test one's palate is the House Special Torched Maki that are quick flame seared and spicy. They range from $14.95-$15.95, depending on what is ordered. 

Still, there is plenty of sushi that is not spicy.

Tokyo Steakhouse is open Monday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday, Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 10 p.m. Take out is available and the number is 978-470-8888. Check out the website for a complete menu and information on their other locations.
