There is No Age Limit For Learning
Explorers announces free "Friday Coffee" lecture series for North Shore seniors.

Learning is a lifelong process, and few local groups know that better than the Explorers Lifelong Learning Institute of Salem State University.
The Explorers recently announced a free “Friday Coffee” lecture series for North Shore seniors, ages 50 and above.

Lecturers in the Explorers Friday Coffee series are typically from local North Shore communities such as Salem, Peabody, Marblehead, Danvers and Ipswich.
Topics for the upcoming fall 2015 lectures include mindfulness, Congressional inertia, pet care, volunteering, recollections of a former CIA agent (and Boston newspaper reporter), and Boston’s Black community’s anti-slavery activities during the Civil War.

The series will begin September 18 and run through mid-November. All lectures are at 10 a.m. at the Explorers Lifelong Learning Institute at 10 Federal Street, Suite 10 in Salem.

The Explorers Lifelong Learning Institute of Salem State University (LLI) is a member-directed learning group, one of more than 400 such organizations in the United States and Canada. Explorers is affiliated with the Road Scholar Institute Network (formerly Elderhostel) and local colleges or universities.
The organization, open to North Shore seniors 50 years of age and older, offers affordable noncredit courses, free lectures, and other activities geared especially to the interests of seniors.
Salem’s Explorers group is a non-profit run almost entirely by volunteers. It was founded in 1992 and currently has over 340 members, mostly retirees with diverse backgrounds. All are passionate learners.
