Two Arrested After Merrimack College Vandalism Spree
A current and former student at the North Andover college are facing more than two dozen charges.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — A current and former student at Merrimack College in North Andover are accused of damaging more than 20 cars, signs and bleachers on the school's North Andover campus during an overnight vandalism spree late Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Aram Smith, 19, of 4 Orchard Crossing in Andover, and Jacob Olson, 20, of Shrewsbury, were each charged with 25 counts of malicious damage. Both men were released on personal recognizance following their arraignment in Lawrence District Court.
According to the Eagle-Tribune, which first reported this story, the two men were identified after police and college staff reviewed surveillance video. In addition to scratching as many as two dozen cars with keys, the men are accused of damaging a dorm doorway, an exit sign and of flipping over bleachers.
