Weather Alert: Snow Will Likely Impact the Friday Morning Commute

Snow develops between 5 and 11 Friday morning.

A quick burst of snow Friday morning will result in an inch or two of accumulation across much of the region, according to the National Weather Service. The main concerns are that this snow will occur during part of the morning commute, at least occur across interior Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut. In addition, cold road surfaces will allow the snow to accumulate immediately.

The other concern, according to the NWS, is the expected strong to damaging winds along the coast on Friday. The strongest winds are expected across the Cape and Islands, where high wind warnings are posted for the potential for gusts up to 65 miles per hour.

Dry, but cold, weather will return in time of the for the New England Patriots playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, followed by some warming by Sunday, according to forecaster.
