What Were The Most Popular Books In North Andover In 2019?

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Did you check out books from Stevens Memorial Library last year? Maybe you read Michelle Obama's memoir, or Delia Owens' Where The Crawdads Sing, like many other North Andover residents. Those were two of the most-read books in town last year, according to a list provided by Library Director Kathleen Keen.

Not everyone checks out print books, or even reads the text, Keen noted. The top five books were read in four formats — print book, e-book, audiobook (on a CD) and downloadable audiobook, or e-audiobook.

"Sometimes they didn’t even need to come into the building (though of course, we love it when they do visit)," Keen said in an email.

Keen included the formats library patrons chose for each book. Book descriptions come from the publishers.

"Both books and libraries are changing, just as technology and communities around us are changing. We encourage people who have not been into a library recently to visit one near them. And, if time or travel is sometimes a question, visit a library online via their website," Keen said.

Where the Crawdads Sing – Delia Owens
