Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Saturday Into Sunday

A mixed bag of weather, including snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain and wind will impact the region.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that will be in effect from 4 Saturday afternoon until 2 Sunday morning for portions eastern Massachusetts and the Providence Metro area.

A mixed bag of weather, including snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain and wind will impact southern New England from Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow is likely, mainly after 4 p.m., Saturday, and rain, snow, and sleet before 11 Saturday night, then freezing rain for a period, and then rain after midnight, according to meteorologists.

The impacts of the storm will likely be that roads will quickly snow covered, along with a light amount of icing, with limited visibility. There is a low risk of isolated power outages, according to the NWS.

Motorists will need to be especially careful on bridges and overpasses where slippery spots can easily develop.
