10 Dates You Need to Know on the Northborough School Calendar

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — The 2016-2017 school year is almost here, and while students may be dreading it, the time has come to make preparations for the upcoming school year.

Students are due back in Northborough schools on Wednesday, Aug. 31, for all grades. There is no school on Monday, Sept. 5, for Labor Day. Here are ten other important dates you should be aware of for Northborough public schools.

1. Aug. 31 kindergarten orientation
2. Oct. 3: no school, Rosh Hashanah
3. Oct. 10: no school, Columbus Day
4. Oct. 12: no school, Yom Kippur
5. Nov. 8: no school for students, professional development day
6. Nov. 11: no school, Veterans' Day
7. Nov. 23: early release day
8. Nov. 24 and 25: Thanksgiving recess
9. Nov. 28: ARHS winter sports tryouts begin
10. Dec. 26-Jan. 2: holiday recess
