BJ’s Teams with Cooking Light to Offer New Healthy Prepared Foods
BJ's aligned with Cooking Light to serve the growing segment of consumers who want to make smarter, healthier food choices for their families

Cooking Light announced the launch of its first-ever prepared-foods product line exclusively at BJ’s Wholesale Clubs, introducing 14 new ready-made items in four categories, Entrées, Stuffed Pastas, Take & Bake, and Soups & Sides. The brand debuted four soup varieties in Fall 2012 as a test and is expanding the line based on strong sales and positive consumer feedback. The products are made from fresh ingredients and are based on recipes that were developed and tested in the Cooking Light Test Kitchens.
“Consumers turn to Cooking Light for healthy recipes above all," said Scott Mowbray, Cooking Light editor. "But the fact is they’re sometimes too busy to cook. It was logical to move into a prepared-foods line. However, we were very careful about our partners. We insisted that the food taste homemade, delicious, and in the style of our best recipes. Our editors and Test Kitchen experts taste the food at every step and advise on formulations. Our dietitian scrutinizes the numbers. The result is healthy, ready-made food we’re absolutely proud of.”

The Cooking Light products retail from $8.99 to over $20.00 and are available in the prepared foods section of all 199 BJ’s Wholesale Clubs located on the East Coast. Cooking Light plans to expand the product line this fall with Flatbreads and new items in the Entrées, Stuffed Pastas, Take & Bake, and Soups & Sides categories.
