My Roving Lens

Photos taken from late February through early June, 2013

Lots of rainy days bring out wanderlust, a trip to a pub or too many hours staring at a screen. You probably have other solutions.

So, perhaps some of these photos, taken from late February to just a day or so ago, will at least satisfy your need to find a place to wander next. It is much of my usual territory. The Hudson, Florida, area north of Tampa, where my mother lives (going strong by herself at 99), Ogunquit, Wells and Cape Porpoise, Maine, San Francisco and our beautiful home town. Oh, and a trip to Iowa where I spent a few days enjoying a college reunion just last week. Drove though horrific rains and one area where a tornado predicted. Saw enormous damage to corn fields. We’ll be paying more at the pump (corn is used for ethanol) and supermarket, and our taxes will cover some crop damage, but barely enough to keep farmers going for another year.

These photos, for any photographers reading this, were made on several cameras, including my cell phone’s. I’m happy to answer any questions about any of them, or the places I visited. Just remember these pics may not be used for commercial purposes without permission.

Here are some links to other fairly recent photos on the Patch. My last bunch, of Bartlett Pond, got knocked off the first page very early by the horrific events at the Marathon. I’m also including pics from a late November trip to California, which several readers liked at the time.
