Cooking Chaos: Electric Grill In Northborough Oven Causes Smoke
The department was called to a home for an oven fire — turned out there was a grill in the oven.
NORTHBOROUGH, MA — Northborough fire crews responded to a call last week about an oven fire and where surprised when they found the cause. A grill was inside of the oven, causing the smoke.
The department used the unique call to remind residents not to store things in the oven, as they can be easily forgotten and later on, burned. The person who left their grill in the oven was lucky a fire didn't break out and the department said there was no damage.
Crews helped clear the smoke out of the home — and made sure the oven stayed empty when they left.

9/27/19 NFD was alerted to a possible oven fire. Crews found an electric grill inside of the oven. This is a great reminder why there should never be anything stored inside of an oven.
