Understanding Learning Disabilities Program

This year, a group of parent volunteers will once again teach the Understanding Learning Disabilities program to our fourth grade students.
This two and a half hour, hands on, curricular program is designed to help students understand the challenges that people with learning disabilities and learning differences face. The mission of the curriculum is to help students increase understanding, acceptance and respect for all people and to appreciate that everyone has learning strengths and challenges.
This curriculum is part of the nationally recognized and award winning Understanding Differences Program that was originally developed in 1978 . If you are interested in observing or volunteering to help implement this unique and meaningful program, please contact your building principal or participate in the parent training workshop on October 19th.
