Eyes are Meant for Tears

Thought – July 11, 2014

For whatever reasons, we have all shed tears from time to time.   We cried when we skinned our knees as children, when we were sad, when we were happy, when we acted a little “crazy.”  We probably did not think about the value of our tears at the time, but tears had a way of cleansing our souls.

Some people think that crying is a sign of weakness.  But, I don’t think this is true.  Releasing your tears only goes to show, that you are human.  It is something humans do.

I can remember as a child crying because I was afraid, or depressed about something going on in my life.  I remember being told that my tears did not matter to anyone so I shouldn’t bother crying because no one cared about how I felt.  For years, I denied myself this process. Yet, I discovered after some time that to deny myself the ability to let out my inner most emotions has at times made me feel as if I was missing something.  Tears have been known to start the healing process of our pains and are therapeutic.

As I aged, I have witnessed tears falling from the eyes of many people I have known.  Instead of ignoring their tears, I allow myself to be near should someone want a shoulder to cry on.  No one should ever be ashamed of crying because tears are a natural function and an emotional outlet.

Eyes Are Meant For Tears

Tears are falling from my eyes

Well this is good, as they are supposed to fall from our eyes.

Sometimes they can be tears of joy, pain, or frustrations, and sometimes they just show up and I don’t know why.

They just come and go with my life’s ups and downs so when I am in the mood to shed my tears, just let me cry.

Let me get it out of my system once and for all

Whether it is just for a few tears or if I have the need to set them free from my inner dam and then I will bawl.

Tears can also allow me to rid myself of bad moments and help me to purify my soul

Tears can do this I have been told.

Even science has proven this to be true

Crying for whatever reasons can be good for you.

So don’t think it is a weakness to shed your tears

Strong people have been crying for years.

So if you are prone to keep your tears inside

It might do you good to give crying a try.

Go ahead and let out all the tears you have held back over the years

Do not be afraid that others will see your tears.

For they too are human and have tears of their own

You will learn in doing in shedding tears you are not alone.

So to shed tears for whatever reason they might flow

And allow them to comfort your soul.
