What does the nominee do for work?:
Some are considered essential, some are not. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday the nurses ride the school busses and deliver the 320 lunches that the cafeteria staff make. The technology department prepares Chromebooks and iPads for distribution to students who need a device to be able to access distance learning. These are also delivered by the school nurses riding the buses.
Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
The service they are providing is ensuring the families and students that need lunch and computers are getting them. The nurses are able to check in with families (from 6 feet away) to see how they are doing, if they have any questions or needs.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
They are all super heroes!! All of these people are ensuring that our students are fed and have a device to be able to access their classes. It is reassuring for the students when they see a familiar face delivering lunch. And rewarding for the nurses to make a connection with some of their students.
