Have Coffee with the New Algonquin AD

The new AD for Algonquin meets with students and families at a "Coffee with the Athletic Director" session.

Karrah Ellis, who begins this year as the new athletic director for Algonquin Regional High School, recently posted an introductory letter on the Algonquin athletics website.

"As I begin my work as the Director of Athletics for Algonquin Regional High School, it is very clear that Algonquin is a school with great pride, tradition, and spirit," writes Ellis. "Over the course of the next year, I will work very hard to become familiar with those great traditions. I will also strive to learn as much as possible about Algonquin Regional High School with a specific focus on the athletic department."

Ellis said she would meet with a wide range of people associated with the athletics department throughout the summer and fall, as well as review district
policies and handbooks.

"These interviews and meetings constitute a purposeful effort," she writes, "to meet with as many people as possible who are associated with the athletic department in order to build an understanding of current practices and information that will be instrumental in formulating priorities for the future."

Ellis also offers "Coffee with the Athletic Director" in the cafeteria at ARHS from 9-10 a.m. on Aug. 8. She's also available on Aug. 12 from 6-7:30 p.m.
