Hopkinton Principal Comes to Northborough
Jen Parson leaves her position in Hopkinton to become the newest principal of the Lincoln Street School.

In a letter to Center School families, Principal Jennifer Parson said she is leaving the Hopkinton school for kindergartners and first graders to take a job as principal of Northborough's Lincoln Street School.
She will replace Principal Beth Ludwig at the K-5 school, which serves children in Northborough. Ludwig resigned in order to take a position at the Hanscom Primary School in Lincoln.
Parson said her decision was based on a professional desire to lead a K-5 school.

Parson was a tireless proponent of the K-5 model that Hopkinton voters rejected at Town Meeting and at a townwide ballot earlier this year.
Parson called the Center School faculty amazing and praised the schoolchildren's parents who she said wholeheartedly and selflessly support Center School.

"I thank you for entrusting me with the education and well being of your children each day for the past seven years," she wrote.
Parson said retiring Hopkinton Schools Superintendent John Phelan and new Superintendent Jonathan Landman, who starts work July 1, are already working on the new leadership for Center School.
She said she will remain in Hopkinton for at least part of the summer to ensure a smooth transition.
