Lisa Kaplan Memorial 5K planned for May 14

On Saturday, May 14, 2016, the 1st Annual Lisa Kaplan Memorial 5K Walk/Run and Kids' Fun Run will be held to honor the memory of Lisa Kaplan, a Westborough native and 12 year veteran teacher from Melican Middle School in Northborough, MA. Lisa was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive type of mesothelioma in October and passed away only a month and a half later on November 23, 2015.

The race will start and finish at Melican Middle School, 145 Lincoln St., Northborough, MA. It will be USATF Certified and Chip Timed by RaceWire. Online registration will be open through May 7th at www.LK5K.Racewire.com. Adults are $25, children 14 and under $15 and $5 for the Kids' Fun Run. Pre-registrants are guaranteed a Long Sleeve Tech Shirt. All fitness levels are welcome. Partipants will enjoy music along the route, two water stops encouraging signs and post race food and music. All Kids' Fun Run participants will receive a medal.

Race Day and Registration Information:

7:30 am - 9:00 am: Packet pick up; Race Day Registration (check or cash only)

9:30 am: Kids' Fun Run (ages 10 and under)

10:00: 5K Run/Walk.
